COONSE, James William - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

James William Coonse of Crawfordsville, formerly of Covington, age 58, died Tuesday evening, May 21, in Ben Hur Nursing Home in Crawfordsville. He was born in Covington, October 31, 1924, the son of Fred W. and Eva Catherine Harper Coonse. He married Violet Ruth High on October 14, 1944. She died August 19, 1966. He later married Helen Marie Downey, who died October 2, 1971. He had been employed at DeKalb Corn Company in Crawfordsville and Burns-Scott Construction Company in Champaign, Illinois.

  Survivors include two daughters, Susan Watson of Sidney, Illinois, and Paula Louise Newby of Crawfordsville; two sons, Richard W. and Lloyd A., both of Crawfordsville; two stepdaughters, Karen Moore and Linda Perry, both of Danville, Illinois; two stepsons, Wilbur Stevens of Pasadena, Texas, and Bob Stevens of Terre Haute; two sisters, Bi Stone of Indianapolis and Annabelle Vandevender of Rockville and 14 grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Friday morning at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. Everett Davenport officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery at Crawfordsville. – thanks to S
